Digital systems design in much different than analog system design.  The designer has to take into consideration:

  1. The distance that the signal will be traveling.
  2. What the resolution the images will display at.
  3. The aspect ratio of the images.
  4. More than ever, scaling has to be considered.
  5. A strategy to deal with the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID).
  6. A strategy to deal with the High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP).
  7. Determine what type of cable should be used.
    1. If category cable should be used, should it be
      1. Cat 5e cable
      2. Cat 6 cable
      3. Cat 6 shielded cable
      4. Fiber cable
      5. HDMI cable
      6. DVI cable
      7. DisplayPort cable
  8. Will transmitters and receivers be necessary?
  9. Can we transmit the digital signal wirelessly?
  • Will a combination of digital and analog signal transmission be viable?.
  • How much bandwidth is required for a proper image to display?
  • How do you avoid image artifacting?

For this you need a consultant that is qualified in digital technology.  If they are not qualified, then you can expect trouble with the functionality of the systems that they design.   Every design should take these things into consideration.
